THRIVING INDUSTRY OF DOLPHIN EXPLOITATION: More and more dolphins
aresuffering in captive "swim-with-the-dolphins" programs around the
world.
These programs have sprung up in Latin America, Asia, the South
Pacific, and elsewhere in the last few years. Tourists to the Dominican Republichave
reported terrible living conditions for the dolphins being heldcaptive in the
"Manati Park" facility.
Photographs of the facility confirmthe reports. Photos ofManati
Park show a concrete swimming pool of such tiny dimensions as to beinhumane
and extremely stressful to the dolphins.
WHAT YOU CAN DO:
Please write to the following officials and the owner ofthe park
and ask them to do all they can to either release the captive dolphins from
Manati Park or send them to another, larger facility without a "swim-with-the-dolphins"
program.
